Our high end model is made of world class cowhide leather and imported from abroad. Often discussed as a “sitting machine” and one of the signature classics of modern design, the Le Corbusier Basculant Armchair (1929) was an integral part Le Corbusier’s full burgeoning of the International Style.  Introduced at the Salon d’Automne, the Le Corbusier Basculant Armchair’s emphasis lay in the juxtaposition of new construction techniques, mechanical versatility and precious materials.

The beauty and grace of the chromed-steel frame lies in eight simple tubular pieces that are seamlessly welded together and given life by two unexpected arcs connecting the seat to the posterior frame.

The visual effect is that of simultaneous weightlessness and solidity. The overall comfort of the chair is exceptional, with a reclining seat and mobile back for constant support.

A natural cowhide seat and back with black leather sling arms lend warmth and stylish neutrality to an artfully constructed design of classic luxury. Haired hides are a natural product and no two will be alike.

Each hide will have a varying pattern of brown, black and/or white spots.

The Italian leather is made in Italy. The frame is also foreign made.

Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, who chose to be known as Le Corbusier (October 6, 1887 – August 27, 1965), was a Swiss-French architect, designer, urbanist, writer and also painter, who is famous for being one of the pioneers of what now is called Modern architecture or the International Style. He was born in Switzerland, but became a French citizen in his 30s.

Our competitors cut their prices by using low grade bar stock, inferior hides, and unskilled labor. The result is a second-rate product that will quickly fall apart. Many of the lesser products that are flooding the market are manufactured in cheap overseas plants.
We pledge to never source our Le Corbusier classic series pieces from inferior sources and pass them off as design classics. Instead we guarantee that we only sell products from our own plant. The results are world class products that look like the Cassina’s Masters Collection, manufactured by Cassina in Italy.

No one else can offer all of these extras, or the ability to customize Le Corbusier classics at prices that can’t be beat.

Our Le Corbusier Chairs, Sofas and Benches are made using 100% ITALIAN LEATHER which includes covering the sides and the backs of every unit.

We use 100% Italian leather, processed in Italy, mostly by Mastrotto Group. The Mastrotto Group is the source for BMW and Mercedes Benz car leather upholstery. All the top grain leather we use is aniline dyed and turned in drums to soften it. Then, a finish coat is added to protect the hide against stains and fading. Our top grain leather has a fine and supple hand. We feel that it is an excellent combination of softness, durability, consistency of color, resistance to sunlight, and ease of maintenance. Not only is this leather soft and luxurious, it can outlast fabric up to four times longer. This leather is also known as semi-aniline or aniline plus. We do not use split hides, pig leather, matched leather, or PVC material on any product. We only use ultra high-grade materials.

Full Grain, Full Aniline Leather is available, too. Full Aniline leather is the softest and most expensive leather. The leather is left in its most natural/naked state after the aniline-dye process. Full Aniline means that no pigments are used and no top coatings sprayed on after the aniline-dye process. This leather is the best money can buy and is the most premium hide covering in the world.

All cushions are made of high quality high density, fire-rated foam. We use only 2 lbs fire-rated premium high density foam to ensure a longer life from your sofa. Most of our competitors cut corners and substitute inferior interior materials.

With our Le Corbusier Sofas, the cushions sit squarely in proportion to the frame. The alignment by many competitors are usually “way off” due to their inability to master correct production techniques. We use a zig-zag spring system and inner Pirelli webbing, while the seat cushions stay aligned in a custom made wood frame.

Our competitors rarely use leathers from Italy. Many of our competitors use low quality split or pig leather, with very poor quality control. When browsing the Internet you may find low quality imports. Generally, you will see that most of these come from China. Many of these items use vinyl PVC on the back and sides. You will also see this called “Leather Match.” This is the hallmark of an inferior cheap product that will contain many design flaws.

Our Le Corbusier inspired  seating collection is made using strong South Korean 304 stainless steel. Many of our competitors get steel from China which is generally 304 or 202. The steel may look the same from the surface, however, in a few years the sofa may rust or even corrode. Generally, our competitor’s steel finish is inconsistent. They are unable to polish the steel’s luster to our standards.

Our Competitor’s units may look somewhat similar, but similar is not good enough. A closer look will reveal that imperfections in design, proportions, and style elements on many of these products.
